I am sitting here on the couch watching Joe play soccer on his Wii. He is beating the teams he plays by 8 or more goals each time. We spent a long time at the pet store looking at lizards, fish, cats, dogs, snakes, geckos, and bearded dragons. Joseph had a ball. The only drawback were the dogs coming for their obedience classes. They may have been puppies, but Joseph was afraid that they would bite (thanks Pippin). We bought some more crickets to feed his toad.
I felt the baby move 3 weeks ago today for the first time. I was singing "I am a child of God" to Joseph and the baby started to kick. It was fun to feel. Of course, now the baby dances on my bladder, so now, no matter how often I go to the bathroom, I soon have to run back. Joseph was telling the baby to wake up today. I think because Joseph was so tired, he felt that he should make the baby wake up too.
Joseph has Joe's old dinosaur comforter and sheets on his bed. He loves them. He put all the dinosaurs he has on them and then points out that he still needs stegosaurus and pteranodon. He also says thank you to Grandma Rankin for the Dr. Suess Cat in the Hat towel. He loves using it.
Ever satiating the curious minds of friends and family (or at least trying to keep a personal record lest we forget what happened day by day).

This made my night
I was carrying Joseph to his room tonight. He looked at me and asked, "Doctor said yes?" I told him that the doctor said "yes." He then repeated, "Doctor said yes....you can carry me. Yay!!" He started clapping and smiling. As he was falling asleep he said again, "Doctor said yes." He is excited that I can carry him again.
Long time no blog
Well, time flies by when you have a house to clean and fix. Joe has been busy with the remodel. He is going to attack our family room, which is good and bad. Good because then the basement will be done, but bad because we have no other room to hangout in at the moment. I guess that means more time at the kitchen table.
Congrats to Alison and Ryan. We are excited for your wedding and hope that you can find a day in which most, if not all, of the family can be there.
Joseph has a new pet. It is a fire bellied toad. He loves it. We realized after owning it for almost a week that it prefers live crickets (don't waste your money on the can o' crickets). Here is a picture of Joseph with his toad. He can't hold it often because it might give him a rash. Unfortunately a pet means clean up after said pet. That means I need to start cleaning his habitat. Joseph thinks that his toad is a frog that we named toad. I have to say that it is cool to watch the toad eat. It is really fast and good at catching live crickets.
Joseph also enjoys talking to his little brother or sister. The doctor thinks it is a boy from a couple of ultrasounds, but my official ultrasound is on September 9 at 11 a.m. I don't know what I am having. I dreamnt before I was pregnant that I had another cute little boy, but I don't know if it was a revelatory dream or just me wanting a baby. Here is Joseph sharing his toys with his sibling. That is my belly. I don't know how I can look so big considering how low the baby actually is at the moment.

Joseph and the search for the missing apple
Joseph has decided that daddy has an apple stuck in his neck. He looks at it and tries to find it. He usually will grab Joe's mouth and open it. He peeks inside and says that he doesn't see the apple. He even has a mini light that he has used to shine inside daddy's throat. He seems really concerned that the apple is there. Daddy tells him that he has an apple too and Joseph says, "oh no." He then tries to figure out where his is hiding.
Along with everyone's missing finger, between your thumb and pointer, Joseph is fascinated by everything around him. He has been acting like a cat a lot lately.
I have the rest of the week off, so that is nice. I wasn't anticipating time off, but it is great to be home with Joseph. Today he didn't want to let me out of his sight. I worked on trying to get our laundry folded and put away. I will be working on that tomorrow too.

Joseph and his baby brother or sister
On Saturday I decided to lay Joseph down for a nap. I told him that I was tired and that the baby was tired (Joseph was tired too). When we lay down to nap, I asked him to tell the baby that he/she needed to get to sleep. He told the baby, "you need go sleep now." We all took our naps. Well, Joseph enjoyed talking to his sibling, so yesterday we got more.
I was on the couch, leaning on my arm, when Joseph came over and pointed to my belly. He said, "baby you need to wake up." He then brought over some of his toys and started stacking them on my belly. He was talking to his little sibling and saying that he was going to share his toys and let the baby play with them. He stacked stuffed animals on my belly and put cars and trains in front of my belly. I would have tried to get a picture, but Joe was busy and the camera was in another room Joseph then asked the baby if he could have his toys back to play with.
Later that evening, he started to climb on me and pretend he was a roaring tiger. He stopped where the baby was and roared at my belly for a few minutes. He told the baby that he was a tiger. I talked to the baby too and let the baby know that Joseph was pretending. Joseph thought it was fun, so he made different animal sounds at my belly.
Joe asked him if I was going to have a baby tiger. Joseph said no. He kept asking if I was going to have different animals, to which Joseph responded no to everything. Joe finally asked what mommy was going to have, and Joseph said, "a bee" and then proceeded to make his little hand fly.
At lunch today, he gave the baby something to play with as well. It will be fun to see the two of them together. I just hope all continues to go well (and that the nausea will disappear). Joseph asked to go potty twice yesterday. He actually went poops in the toilet, but finished after we put a clean diaper on him. I guess you win some and lose some.

Success
Joseph did it!!! He finally went poop in his little toilet. Yesterday after work, he looked like he wanted to go. I asked if he wanted to go in his toilet and he said yes. We ran upstairs and took off his diaper. He sat on the toilet for a few minutes and yelled, "I did it!" He said, "mommy check." I looked and he had gone. He was holding up his shirt and trying to clap. He looked at daddy and said, "I did it, yay!" Daddy gave him a high five. He was so happy.
The only downside is that I have to clean the toilet. It made me gag. I was just happy that he had gone.
Joseph is a funny kid. We play a kissing game which is we kiss each others cheeks over and over again. He loves it. He also asks me to sing about random things. I end up having to make up a song so that he gets his shark song, or fish song. or whatever pleases him. It is fun to try and do. Between his thumb and pointer finger, he says that he is missing a finger. He looks at our hands and says that we are missing fingers too. Yesterday he was playing with my hair and said, "I like your hair."
I love my little guy. I know that Joe does too. We both enjoy his little hugs and kisses. Joseph waited for his daddy to carry him to the car this morning. Joseph told his daddy, "I miss you.." What a sweet kid!! Not to say that he doesn't like to punch or throw tantrums (boy did he throw a big one last night because he wanted a bath). All in all, I wouldn't trade him for the world.
